Why do I need drone training?
Drone training is crucial for safe and responsible flying. It helps you understand regulations, flight procedures, and safety measures, ensuring you operate the drone legally and prevent accidents.
What will I learn in a drone training course?
Drone training covers various topics, including flight principles, regulations, airspace rules, emergency procedures, and practical flight skills.
Do I need a license to fly a drone?
In Malaysia, we do not have drone operator licenses yet, as their implementation is still in progress but a Remote Pilot Certificate of Competency ( RCoC) training is the closest you could obtain in Malaysia today. However, you still need to apply for Authorisation to Fly (ATF) to fly a drone.
What are the different types of drone training courses available?
Courses range from basic beginner training to more advanced and specialized programs, covering topics like aerial photography/videography, mapping, inspection, and more. For CAAM certified course, we offer Remote Pilot Certificate of Competency- Basic (RCoC-B) for beginner, RCoC (EVLOS) Module 1: Extended Visual Line of Sight & RCoC (AGR) Module 2: Agricultural UAS Operations for advanced user
Do I need to own a drone before taking a training course?
It's not necessary to own a drone before training. AFI will provide the necessary equipment for practical flying.
